Back in the Europe Dot

Greetings from Roma,

As the title suggests, I have left Israel for Europe and my min-vacation is over. Back to the ravages of speed-travel.

Israel was absolutely amazing. I urge everyone to go. It was completely safe, and never did I feel like my security was compromised (mainly because the security everywhere is so tight), even whilst driving through the West Bank on the way to the Dead Sea.

Jerusalem was the most difficult place in my journeys, solely for psychological reasons. It is infinitely confounding to me that I have walked on the same street that Jesus dragged his cross over. That I’ve placed my hand upon the wailing wall, and gazed upon the site where Mohammed ascended to heaven.

Similarly, being in Caesara I’ve stood in the ruins where an Apostle was sent to Rome to be executed by Pontius Pilate (the same guy who charged Jesus), all told in the bible. That I’ve looked at the Dead Sea scrolls. How can all this be, it is remarkable to say the least.

Perhaps the most fun, however, was that we rented a car and I got to drive around Israel like a crazy Israeli driver, which is simply put – awesome. It’s like driving in the snow; road rules seldom apply, and everything goes.

Anyways, back in Rome we went to the Sistine Chapel today and the Vatican. I know what you’re thinking, ‘what’s with all the religious shiat’?. Well, that’s history for you, bub.

‘Till next time.

Israel

Hey everybody.

Sorry I haven’t updated in awhile. Last time I tried I ran out of internet, and it looks like a similar situation is occuring.

I’m in Israel now with Simone, which is pretty cool. We’ve been visiting lots of holy/historical places, which are difficult to comprehend.

Rome was a similar feeling, although not so many biblical references, obviously.

Keeping this short so it doesn’t get cut off. I’ll make a proper post once I have some for sure internet tme.

‘Till next time.

How to feel dirty and rich at the same time.

So, Monaco.

Yea, you’ve all been to the “club”, but I doubt many of you have been to the principality.

And for good reason. Not many of you have the amount of money there to travel there in good time. It is not knock, just a truth. I’ve never felt like more trash in the world, even wearing the most current and up-to-date swimwear in the world.

It is a Disneyland for wealthy adults. If my parents have not been there I feel cheated for all the time we went to Disneyland or Disneyworld; they deserved a chance at their own theme park. Which is exactly what Monaco is. It is the resort to beat all resorts, and the “city” to beat all city’s (I know it’s a fucking principality, but come on…Vatican, need I say more?).

I spent the day walking around and feeling the lowest class of the rat race. Ridiculous I know, but it seems difficult not to be caught up in it. 5 euro mill, condo’s are the usual. The properties are insanely more, and I hope they are family money. If not, I need some fantastic ideas, stat. Regardless, I have determined to buy property in Souther France, be it in Nice, Cannes, Monaco, or the surrounding areas. It is magnificent in no other way that any other place in the world has been for me. Pender has always been a santuary on the West Coast, and if I have my way it always will be, however, Southern France may be my primary residence in retirement. I guess I better start early. But with such a place, how could I not? Southern France is what motivation is made of.

‘Till Next Time.
