The Life and Times of J.Z. Garrod
Strange and terrible musings from a world traveller who has been to very few places.Archive for May, 2006
Lisboa
In Lisbon, as the title quite clearly suggests.
Like Madrid, this post will be short, as I always feel terribly bad for the people waiting to use the internet behind me, having been in their position so many times (It´s amazing how much shit you have to do on the internet on a constant basis).
Lisbon has been swell, and we are now off to Lagos to spend a week relaxing on the beach, surfing, and of course, partying. Not too bad, not too bad at all. If you´re wondering what we have done in Lisbon, we have gone to Sintra to see this amazingly awesome palace, and gone to a karoke bar – yes, we are now cultured world travellers.
And just so I don´t forget: Beeraq – It´s like a civil war in your mouth!
I´ll tell you later.
´Till then.
Not Dead but Almost
I’m in Madrid, and I feel about as good as I look. And since I’ve taken to growing my “facial hair” (I use the term loosely), you now understand the relevance of the first statement.
Too much partying and no sleep is tough. They party haaaard here in Madrid, as in all night sort of thing – very difficult to do.
Talk again when I feel less like death.
A New Continent for a New Day
Vive la France!
Tyler and I are now in Paris, and I must begin by saying that it is absolutely breathtaking. The city is beautiful – and for it to be a place my Dad calls one of his favourite city’s in the world – it must be true.
I find myself taking pictures of streets and squares to attempt to capture French city living. Regardless of my terrible grasp of the French language, this place is amazing and it is now no surprise to me that so many artists and writers have lived here. It is inspiring, to say the least.
I wonder now how it has taken me so long to get here. It seems that it has been a time far too long. I can only hope that after I have left, I will have chance to visit it more, although of course in shorter durations.
Tomorrow we set off for Bordeaux and then to Madrid.
Till’ then.
